INSULATING

Insulating glass units (IGU) are comprised of two or more lites of glass, separated by a spacer and hermetically sealed with polyisobutylene (PIB) and a secondary structural sealant. IGUs are available in high performance coatings (Saand is certified to produce products from Vitro, Guardian, and St. Gobain), laminated glass, argon gas, printed glass, spandrel, and argon gas filled.

The space between the glass panes is often filled with inert gases, such as argon or krypton, which have low thermal conductivity.
