INSULATING

Insulating glass units (IGU) are comprised of two or more lites of glass, separated by a spacer and hermetically sealed with polyisobutylene (PIB) and a secondary structural sealant. IGUs are available in high performance coatings (Saand is certified to produce products from Vitro, Guardian, and St. Gobain), laminated glass, argon gas, printed glass, spandrel, and argon gas filled.

Some benefits of IGUs are:

Energy Efficiency: The primary benefit of IGUs is their superior thermal insulation. The space between the glass panes is often filled with inert gases, such as argon or krypton, which have low thermal conductivity. This reduces heat transfer, keeping indoor spaces warmer in winter and cooler in summer. As a result, energy consumption for heating and cooling is reduced, leading to lower utility bills.

Noise Reduction: The multi-pane design of IGUs provides improved sound insulation, making them an excellent choice for environments exposed to external noise. They help create quieter and more comfortable indoor spaces, ideal for homes, offices, and other noise-sensitive areas.
